[pct-l] ELR to Ashland



We spent the 4th of July in South Lake Tahoe in 2000. I cannot remember any
snow between there (Echo Lake) and Ashland. If there was some it was
insignificant.

We had some mosquitos, but they were mostly gone by then. I think the
mosquitos are dependant how recent the snow has melted. Mosquitos are
probably a couple weeks after the snow.

Regarding permits - check out this page from the PCTA
http://www.pcta.org//planning/before_trip/permits.asp . The example actually
fits your hike.

Remember that the snow levels will change each year. My guess is that you
should be okay. Have a nice hike.
