Used the One Sport TRS Comp on the AT in 96. They broke faster then Montrail
could send me new ones. Used 2 pairs. On the first one the soles split in
the heel on both shoes after less than 2 weeks. On the second pair the soles
started falling off after a couple of days. Glued them and they never fell
off completely, but I would be very reluctant to use a One Sport shoe for
anything serious. Of course they might have fixed the problem in the last
two years.

One Sport (now Montrail) boots built with the "classic" last have a
wide
toe box. The TRS Comp is low cut, and the Morraine is a high top.
They
may be using a different last for the Morraines now. If you can use
a
low cut, the TRS Comp seems like a good choice for the PCT. It is
almost
as light as a trail running shoe but feels like a boot.
