I was initially planning a northbound hike, but work and snow conditions
have given rise to thoughts of a southbound hike. Most likely, I won't be
able to start any earlier than the last week in May. First I thought of
hiking north from Agua Dulce and coming back to finish the desert later in
the year. But with the snow situation, the cost of delaying in purchasing a
plane ticket, and the possiblity that after hiking from Agua Dulce to KM
I'll have to hitch, bus, plane, ect to Manning to flip, Im leaning more and
more toward a SB hike! My biggest concerns are the lack of other
southbounders (I prefer talking to myself for no more than 4 days straight),
and hiking 1600 miles to the Sierras in 3 mos to get to the Sierras by Spet.
It would be nice to start on May 25 or so; snow permitting. I plan to
take a look at the logistics over the next week and hopefully will make a
decision by then.

With that said, it would great to get a rough idea of how many southbounders
there are this year.
I'll look in the archives, and see what I can find out. I know Roni posted
something simalar, Mara, and one other...but I can't remember any more.

If you plan on hiking southbound, why not post your tenative departure date,
so all of us considering a sobo have a better idea on the numbers!

I imagine we'll have a better an idea of who's flipped and when via the
Green Turtle or othersie from Donna as well.

Hmmmm,
