It all depends on what you are willing to settle for.  In my opinion,  since 
it is only a day and a half to Red's Meadows you can easily restock at the  
VVR store.  Red's Meadows store, which is little if any better then VVR can  
also easily restock you the 36 miles to Tuolumne.  Of course, this comes  from 
one who restocked at Cajon Pass for the trip to Wrightwood with a dozen  
cheeseburgers from the McDonalds.  YMMV
