[pct-l] Mistake in the DataBook and other irritations

Hi Nocona! Glad to see that you are back in civilization, I heard that
you reached Manning from Debbie. Congratulations!

And now onto minor irritations... this isn't a discrepancy in the databook
but I thought next years hikers should know:
1.Don't count on Belden Town being open! I hiked a long hot day from
Buck's Lake to find that it was a ghost town. This was later in August
(well behind the pack) so maybe that is why it was closed. I had to go
cheeseburgerless all the way to Chester.
2. Chester is a hard hitch, even though tons of people are driving on that
road. Plus, the hotel mentioned in Yogi's book wasn't open anymore
(locals said it was up for sale). I couldn't get a hotel room in town
even though it was a Thursday and there isn't a campground that takes tent
campers in town. I had to do some creative hitching back out past the
trail to a little motel (Forestwood I think?) and then some more hitching
the next day to get back into town to resupply. A painful succession of
resupplies!
3. No cheeseburgers at Burney Falls. Plus no towel, soap or laundry.

On the bright side Etna is awesome! Highly recommend - one of the
friendliest stops on the trail especially after my bad run in N.
California.
