Dave, check out ALDHA-West (American Long Distance Hiking Association-
west)http://www.aldhawest.org/.  They have a great Gathering in the fall
where folks get together and share from their long distance hiking
experiences, have presentations from different trails, show equipment and
revisit old friends. Last fall Flyin' Brian gave a remarkable presentation
on his Triple Crown in a year. About every 3-4 months they put out the
Gazette with stories and tips for long distance hiking.  Well worth the $15
membership dues.
