[pct-l] Food,,, The lowly Tortilla

I never overlook tortillas....they keep well without refrigeration..pack
easy, and are sooo versatile...from peanut butter and jelly burritos to your
fish tacos....Man does not live on bread alone..but he could...

Almost as rugged as tortillas are pita breads....They don't keep quite as
long, but they are great for tuna (thanks to the foil wrapped tuna packets)
sandwiches as well as any other fillings....even those aluminum canned
chicken salad spreads for the first day or two out from a resupply ...the
washed and crushed can weighs practically nothing...and it is a great
lunchtime meal...

I try to have fresh pitas sent with each resupply box....a little extra
planning, but worth it in my book..

Last year, I ran across a Northbound PCT hiker that was carrying an entire
loaf of white bread with him...He says it lasts a week or so before
molding.....It looked to be in great shape...didn't think to ask how he
packed it...
