[pct-l] (Guest Post) fuel (alcohol) on the pct

By and large most stops stocked denatured alcohol (heet, gas line antifreeze).  The only place I clearly remember not having it is Echo Lake.  That said, many people recommend shipping fuel to yourself in your drop boxes.  Yes, it is against mail regulations.  Double bag it, and don't worry about whether fuel is available.  Also, people are pretty friendly about sharing when you are in need.  We used any old cantainers.  Old gatorade bottles, water bottles, etc.  Use something small (lighter).  Also, mark it clearly!  Wouldn't want to have to get off the trail because you mistakenly drank your fuel.  Peace,
