[pct-l] ADZPCTKOP and Weight loss

Thanks for the clarification of what the ADZ stood for. I mulled this one
over for a while and finally gave up knowing I would eventually learn its
meaning when the time was right --> meaning, it was not obvious. ADZPCTKOP
- now say that ten times fast. Why were the dates for the ADZPCTKOP chosen
to be the first weekend in May (tradition?) and not the last weekend of
April? You all probably know better, but my prediction puts a greater number
of hikers starting the last few days of April/first few days of May. PCT2000
hikers please correct me if I stray from reality.
I would love to attend the KOP and will be in the area at the time (I'm in
Seattle WA currently watching it rain - speaking of which, those last few
hikers coming through WA actually had a great spell of weather these past
weeks, but things have just started to get wet) Who ever is coordinating it
this year (Strider?), please let me know how I can help. I will already be
offering trail support and water stashing for the volunteers of PCTResearch
so while I'm in the motion....

Weight loss, that's what I want to hear about. If anybody else observed
siginificant weight loss/gain (or not) while doing the PCT, I would like to
hear about it. This is basically what my research will be all about -
weight loss and diet - hopefully leading to ways to optimize this weight
loss (ie fat to muscle) and avoidance of any deleterious effects. Any
anicdotal input?
