Re: [pct-l] Re: weakness of the mind and spirit

That's true Brick, for each their own. But the more you pamper yourself on
the trail the less you challenge yourself and learn less about who you
really are and where we as humans really come from. It is a spiritual
adventure for everyone to differing degrees. With each step you take one
needs to be aware of their surroundings and to blend into the environment.
One shouldn't conquer or struggle with nature. One should understand it and
become one with it. That's how you survive under nature's rules. If one
does not, then they are at a higher risk of getting themselves into trouble
under adverse conditions, which you will find yourself in. And for those
of you who have not been on the trail in the High Sierras at the beginning
of June you will be making your own trail as you may be walking in snow for
2 to 3 miles up a pass and 2 to 3 miles down the other side of the pass.
It's an awesome experience whether there is a trail or not.
