[pct-l] Re: Watches

Although I try to go without a watch when I'm in the back country, I've always
found I needed it to convince me that it was time to get up. Not being a morning
person really has its drawbacks when I'm in the wilderness. At home, I can make
up for getting up late by staying up late, but as everyone knows, it's not real
smart to hike in the dark. By the time I was about 800 miles into the PCT, I was
getting up at 9:30 (unless I camped with others). I was a real trail slug.

I am monitoring the gps discussion group and noticed that Casio just came out with a
watch that includes a global positioning system. I believe it has an altimeter too,
but my memory may be wrong on this...
