[pct-l] Top Ten Reasons to Attend the PCTA's Trail Fest this Weekend

Here are the top ten reasons to attend Trail Fest this weekend (March 31 and April 2) at the Mission Inn in Riverside:

10. You can see an incredible slide show presentation from Michael Adams (Ansel's son), and owner
of the Ansel Adams Gallery, and attend a session on photography by Eric Valentine on how to capture
       your memories more effectively.

9. You can get the latest information, and ask questions directly of the US Forest Service, California State
Parks, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management on issues affecting the PCT.

8. You can hear Andy Skurka give his ???Two Seas, Two Feet, One Man's Journey Across the Continent???
       presentation in person.

7. You can attend a ultra-light makeover clinic by Glen Van Peski, a thru-hike prep class on physical
and mental conditioning given by Mtnned of Mountain Education, and Randall Danta of the Sierra Club
       (long-distance coach and Everest alumni).

6. You can attend a panel and talk to thru-hikers and equestrians, learn trail maintenance skills, see
"New Toys for the Trail Geek:, given by Monty Tam, Mike Mauer, and our own Camp Pirate, Trail Ruffian,
       and chicken pluckin' entrepreneur, "Switchback."

5. You can learn more about day hikes on the PCT, and see live pack animal demonstrations, and attend a
session on "Safety on the Trail," covering all your favorite fears and phobias and how to avoid hike ending
       disasters.

4. You can find 21 vendors, including all your ultra-light cottage industry favorites, all in one place, selling
       the latest in ultra-light gear.

3. You can participate in a 1/2 day trail maintenance project, or take a hike with new and old friends on the PCT.

2. You can attend the PCTA's annual meeting, and learn what the organization does to protect and preserve
       our beloved trail.

And the No. 1 reason to attend Trail Fest is:

1. Because you know that the PCT doesn't happen by itself . . . it takes support from people like YOU.
So come out and show yours!

Pre-registration is closed, but walk-ins are welcome. For more information, go to www.pcta.org
