[pct-l] Theodore Solomons Trail

Thanks, Monte, I'd forgotten about this one:

"The Theodore Solomons Trail, a lower elevation alternative to the John Muir
Trail, is a 271-mile pathway from Yosemite to the Mt. Whitney region that
passes through some of the finest country in the Sierra Nevada. Unlike the
Muir Trail, which largely traverses the High Sierra, the Solomons Trail
stays within the bounds of the timberbelt of the Middle Sierra where
firewood is plentiful, wildlife abundant, and the fishing superb. At this
lower elevation the hiking season is also much longer, the weather more
gentle, and the vegetation more hardy."

>From the intro to the 1987 "Guide to the Theodore Solomons Trail" by Dennis
Gagnon, Western Tanager Press ISBN 0-934136-34-3.

I don't think I've ever seen a sign for this one. It follows existing
trails. Some of the points on the trail:

Horseshoe Meadow and Cottonwood Pass
Kern Canyon Ranger Station
Mineral King
Bearpaw Meadow
Roads End in Kings Canyon
Tehipite Valley
Courtright Reservoir
Badger Flat east of Huntington Lake
Clover Meadow
Glacier Point

This would make an interesting possibility for a loop trip of the JMT and
TST.
