[pct-l] John Muir Verse Theodore Solomons

http://www.greatwestbooks.com/solomons.htm<http://www.greatwestbooks.com/solomons.htm> John Muir was a great man, but Solomons was as equal and the John Muir trail really should have been named the Theodore Solomons Trail. He did all the leg work, named most the peaks, but because of a later " Riff" with the Sierra Club, got basicly no credit and ended up washing his hands and heading up to Alaska in 1897 for the Gold Rush where he was quite successful. ( He died in 1947) One of the great names in early Sierra history and maybe equal to John Muir. John really shined with his way and thoughtfulness to get the government on board, which is more important than the how much you walked of it..
