The "Hayduke Trail" is even more remote than the CDT!
Once I heard about this "trail" ~5 years ago, it was
on my "TO DO" list.
If you have never been or seen Utah canyon country,
then you should go! It is raw, surreal beauty. Both
harsh and suprisingly sublime.
I have some photos of Utah posted if anyone is
curious. Much of the Hayduke route goes through some
of these places.

And yeah, the hiking community is lucky to have people
like GVP, Ron, Brian et al to make such awesome gear.
I just placed my order for Ron Moak's (Six Moon
Designs) Essence. Time for a different pack. Can't
wait for my new toy. With a simple foam pad and Ron's
new pack, I am down to 8# 10 oz. I'm lazy, so the less
I have to carry, the better. ;)
I like the fact that I can talk to (e-mail or in
person at hiker get togethers) the people who design
much of the gear I use and enjoy. And the people are
hikers themselves!
Off to listen to the interview.
