Of course, it'll depend some on the snow year and meltoff rate.
The later you can push it the better the skeeters will be. Unless it
is a heavy snow year, starting north on July 20 should safely put
you beyond the worst skeeters, but not past the skeeter season
altogether. July 20-Aug 20 should work well as an overall
compromise - in terms of weather, water, daylight and number of
bugs.
