Hi-
Heard from Darrell again today. He's reached Crater Lake and wanted me to
send along this report. This is mostly water info for mile markers within
sections B & C:
1745.1 Just beyond Hiatt Lake, equestrian trough & spigot - good water
1753.5 Between canal and Grizzley Creek, good spring
1757.9 Parallel Rd. 2520 - fenced-in spring has good water
1765.5 South Brown Mtn Shelter - very good well water
1775.5 & 1775.8 Hwy 140 & trailhead at Fish Lake; water at Cascade canal is
good
1788.3 Christie's Spring is flowing well
1793 1/2 mile off the PCT at Deere Lake - good water
1801.4 - 1805 many small creeks
1807.3 One easy mile off the PCT at Ranger Springs, incredible flow,
headwater of the Rogue River; most flow he's ever seen from a springs
1825.3 Mazama Campground/Annie's Spring, one mile off PCT - good flow
He also reported that he encountered snow on the north side of Devil's Peak;
no post-holing as he hiked, some glissading and he was able to walk across
it pretty much. easy to manage.
Hope this is helpful to someone...
Betsy
