I used aquamira on the at with good results, the taste got to me after
awhile so I stared using fewer drops per liter, then just drank straight.
On the pct I used a water bottle filter, and this setup was far better imho.
I used the 'boca by boulder' brand because it was cheapest and all I
really wanted was the filter element and the cap. Buy some nalgene bladders
(3 quart, 1.5 quart). The boca filter cap and fliter itself screws right
onto the nalgene widemouth. While everyone else is pumping away you can
just fill up on water, open the nozzle and sit on the bladder and squeeze.
I would squeeze about 2 quarts and carry dirty water til I needed more. The
setup minus the bladders weighs maybe 3-4 ozs.

About the last item to complete my equipment list is a water
purifier/filter. I am looking for ease of use, cost effective, weight,
and quality of water. I will be hiking the PCT in sections this
spring/summer.
What are your recommendations and experiences?
Thanks, Peter
