In relation to Elizabeth's Backpacker comments, remember that Backpacker has
stayed true to backpacking for about 33 years now, a third of a century;
that's pretty impressive to me. Outside is still around, and almost as old, but
not totally about backpacking, by a long ways. Wilderness Camping and
Backpacking Journal ceased to publish about 25 year ago.
(BTW, if anyone has Backpacker 5, I'll pay a damn good premium for it; it's
the only one I don't have.)
I agree with the earlier comment about this year's Gear Guide issue;
it's kinda poor, except for the charts. Luxury Lite got left out of the pack
section for some reason; that's really bad; I can't find it at the moment, but I
believe LL was in there last year.
