[pct-l] Start date for '05 thru hike...

Gee, in 2000 we did something similar. Hiked from the border to Lake Morena
one day. Got a lift to Mt. Laguna and hiked back the next day, slack packing
both days. Two long days, but without full loads, very doable. Then after
the kickoff, got a ride back to Mt. Laguna. You probably will find others
wanting to do the same thing.

Definitely go to the kickoff. It will be lots of fun - and part of the
experience.

As for hiking with the "wave" - they probably will spread out pretty fast so
you won't feel like you are hiking on a jammed freeway. In fact, some folks
went to the Kickoff and then started at the border afterwards.
