[pct-l] Fuel Amounts for Pepsi can stove
- Subject: [pct-l] Fuel Amounts for Pepsi can stove

Here are the results including Esbit for 12 days:
Stove_Type Total_Weight
Esbit 11.0 (optionally, 6 oz)
MSR WindPro 18.5 oz
Pepsi Can 26.5
Per Bill's Calcs, Esbit is a whopping 15oz less than the Pepsi can stove,
and 7.5 oz lighter than the MSR, initially for a 12 day supply.
Esbit stove 5 oz, fuel 0.5 oz x 12 days = 11 oz
For the ultra-light purist you can exclude the stove
and use 3 tent stakes (doubling their duty) to hold
your pot and a small stone to place the fuel on. This
reduces your weight to just fuel, 6 oz.
Thanks Bill for your stats. You have FURTHER proven
that Esbit is the best pragmatic choice for cooking.
Emotionally speaking, Pepsi can is clearly the winner. Don't fight
it. :)
