IF the snow pack is not too high

The snow pack in the Kern River drainage is approaching 50% of average! All
survey sites are exhibiting steep meltoff decline rates. Upper Tyndall Creek
survey site is showing only 19 inches of snow currently at 11,400 feet
elevation.

Central Sierra, northern Yosemite to Sth Lake Tahoe approximately, is
exhibiting below average also and is in steep meltoff decline.

Chances of a late Spring snow storm are historically about 20%.

Chances of an early entry in the Sierra for thru-hikers and JMT hikers is
looking good.

YMMV,

Greg
