I normally don't comment on peoples emails, since I am just a guilty at
a slip up like this, but this one struck me as so funny, I couldn't
resist.
This has to be one of the best misplaced modifiers I have read in a LONG
time.
"Bears routinely follow backpackers above 9,000 feet."
WOW... I didn't know that backpackers had gotten that tall. Most of the
backpackers I see are around 6 foot.
I know thruhikers lose weight, but didn't realize that i made you taller
too?
Sorry David, hope your not offended, but that was just too good to pass
up

It is easy to hike from the Natl. Forest side of
Donahoe Pass to Tuolumne Meadows in one day. One of
the easiest long hikes in the Sierra. However, bear
cannisters are highly recommended on the Ansel Adams
Wilderness side, too.
You could find rocky cliffs or huge boulders...
Bears routinely follow backpackers above 9,000 feet.
The bear cannisters and bear boxes have greatly reduced
this abnormal behavior. (I've been told by back
country rangers.)
