It is easy to hike from the Natl. Forest side of
Donahoe Pass to Tuolumne Meadows in one day. One of
the easiest long hikes in the Sierra. However, bear
cannisters are highly recommended on the Ansel Adams
Wilderness side, too.
You could find rocky cliffs or huge boulders...
Bears routinely follow backpackers above 9,000 feet.
The bear cannisters and bear boxes have greatly
reduced
this abnormal behavior. (I've been told by back
country rangers.)
