Is that 37,648 for the K.M. - T. M. section or vice versa? I seem to have
the figure 43,000+ still in my head from hiking the JMT last summer, which
of course includes the 4,000+ climb out of Yosemite valley - T.M. It's
amazing how many variations there are for elevations! Surely there must be
an accurate number somewhere?

>Out of curiosity I added up elevation gains from K.M. to Toulemne meadows
and
from Stevens Pass to Rainy Pass and it's not even close: 37, 648 compared
with 20,515. I used the PCT data book for my figures. Enough of math for a
while!
