[pct-l] MT Whitney PCT - JMT route

We have hiked the river route. I don't remember anything outstanding about
it - beautiful mountains along both sides.

We hiked from Reds Meadow up to Garnet Lake, then north to Shadow Lake. We
stayed above the lake, then hiked back down to the river trail via a
different route the next morning. We continued our hike up the river route
to Badger Lakes.

The prettiest of the 3 routes is definely the JMT. But it also is up and
over, then down to a lake, then repeat again several times. The PCT is
mostly flat after Agnew Meadow - running along the east side of the valley.
My experience on the JMT and river routes are in the fall. My experience on
the PCT is both fall and early summer. With low snow levels take the JMT;
otherwise take the PCT.
