I went on a 40+ miler this past weekend from Agua Dulce to Big Tujunga
Cyn.  Most of it is under 5k, but there is about a 8 - 10 mile stretch
around Messenger Flats that is over 5k.  An added bonus to the hike, if
you are a section hiker like me, you log about 24 miles on the PCT (Agua
Dulce to Messenger Flats).  Be prepared for wind and cold nights.  My
second night, at 5k was below freezing.  There is water at North Fork
Station, Mattox Cyn was dry, and you can melt snow up at MF.
