[pct-l] RE: Water at Walker Pass

I recall reading somewhere that the water at Walker Pass CG comes from a 700
gallon USFS firefighting tank up on the hill that is re-filled on a schedule
known only to those who do it. For that reason, signs ask visitors to take
care to close the taps and not to let them run for long periods.

The Northern California PCT Guidebook (2003) page 253 says "If teh camp
faucets are turned off, spring water flows from a pipe into a 9-foot-square
cement-enclosed 'cattail garden' cow trough, to the left of Highway 178, 0.1
mile down, next to the 30 MILES PER HOUR SIGN."
