When I got to the Walker Pass CG, none of the water faucets were not
working. There's a horse trough fed by a spring about 100 yds. west along
the road. I'm pretty sure the guide book mentions this. I learned later
that there had been a huge crowd of hikers just ahead of me that had
emptied the water tank during their stay.
It was weird in that I had left my backpack hidden up in the campground
while I searched for water. The whole time, I felt naked without my pack.
After a while, it just becomes a part of you. :-)
