Two Bodies Found On Mount Laguna
UPDATED: 8:57 AM PST January 26, 2004
SAN DIEGO -- Two bodies were found over the weekend on Mount Laguna, the San
Diego County Medical Examiner's Effice reported.
Paul Parker, an investigator with the medical examiner's office, said it was
not clear whether the two bodies are related.
A Boy Scout found a jeans-and-T-shirt clad body along the Pacific Crest Trail
on Mount Laguna Saturday morning. Authorities decided to wait a day to
attempt recovery because of fog, low temperatures and rough terrain.
A second body was located later in the day. Both of the bodies were males,
authorities said. They were found about five miles apart. One of the bodies
appeared to have been partially eaten by a wild animal, possibly a mountain lion,
officials said.
Mount Laguna, which rises above 6,000 feet, is about 50 miles east of
downtown San Diego.
