[pct-l] Gear list

It's a better gear list than my own. I like the G5, Wanderlust and WM bag.
None of which I am using, but they are great choices.

Comments:

- Things like nail clippers and q-tips can be left in a drift box and used
in towns.
- Bandanas make great washcloths. (Not sure if that is what you are using).
You may only need 2. I use one to blow my nose and another for cleaning my
cook pot and other misc things.
- For a bathing suit, I just bought some capilene boxers and had the fly
sewn shut. Light and dries fast.
- If you eat like I do, 4500-5200 calories per day, a small tissue pack may
last 2-3 days for TP.
- You may want to leave the short pants in a drift box until it gets
warmer. In the low elevation desert portion, I liked long pants for the sun
protection. And it was still early in the season so when I was hiking I did
miss having shorts until I was en-route to Echo Lake.
- The powdered toothpaste you see in upscale healthy style supermarkets is
very light.
- The rain pants are silnylon, right? They might get warm because they do
not breathe. They should hold up as well as fragile Frogg Toggs.
- Your watch could also double as your compass if you got the right watch.
They do sell digital watch/compasses that are not as pricey as
watch/compass/altimeters/thermometers. On the PCT, sometimes you do need
to know which way you are headed (it does get cloudy some days), but not to
the exact degree.
