[pct-l] PCT Map Programs Redux

I can't speak for the Delorme or Topo! Software, but I do have Maptech
Terrain Navigator. When I view the 7.5 minute quads in the non-seamless
mode I can actually see price tags similar to the ones on paper maps I
bought directly from a USGS office. Some of you might be interested in
the Maptech software because they sell a suite of maps covering the
entire PCT (as opposed to 1 state only CD-ROM packages).

Looking back at my previous message I might have been a bit harsh on my
assessment of USGS maps. They are useful - just be prepared to
occasionally encounter unexpected intersections or re-aligned trails.
But they still can't replace the guide books!

Kent.
