[pct-l] Bad List Manners

Dude:

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I did not intend to suggest that any "relevant"
portions of the previous message be deleted. Just delete what is not
necessary to understand your response.

Try getting the messages in digest form and then you will see the problem.
The advantage is that you only get a couple of mailings per day from the
list, each containing from a few to 25 messages.

The problem is when you receive a digest with many messages that includes an
entire previous digest copied as an attachment to someone's reply. It is
extremely difficult to cull through the copied stuff to try to even find the
actual current messages to read. Even the numbering system does little good
since the numbers are repeated in the copied junk. One can't exercise the
simple "delete" option because that dumps the whole digest that you are
trying to read.

Plus the sheer "weight" of copying lots of irrelevant information into an
email is kind of rude. I'm not trying to start a flame, just asking that
responders be sensitive to these issues.

Thanks,

Bill
