I have a wide size 10.5-11 foot.  I simply started out with 13EEEE and Thorlo 
lightweight running socks.  I had neither blisters nor foot problems and 
simply grew into the larger shoes, thus alleviating the problem of trying to get 
wide shoes while ontrail.
