[pct-l] foot pain

HI-

I have a foot problem that is causing me concern considering we're
hiking the JMT June 1. I went to a pair of New Bal. 806 with Spenco's.
My left foot is a little shorter and fatter than my right so I followed
the general protocol of fitting the big foot. With heavy trekking
socks, only the left foot is slightly large with just a little slipping
in the heel. I was banking on my foot swelling some to fill the small
void. If not , will the minor slipping cause unbearable blisters?

I have trained in these (806's) on dirt with out any pain. But have
only walked about 4 miles in them at a time. However, I wore them to
the San Diego Zoo and walked many miles (all day) on pavement and with
street socks (thin, so the left shoe was really too big) like a moron.
I noticed bad pain in my arch ...like a really bad cramp presumably due
to the arch hitting in the wrong spot. I have stopped wearing the
shoes, but 2 weeks later, I still have a dull ache from it in my arch.

Does anyone know about this problem?? Should I never wear them again?
I'm really limited on shoes for the hike. My Vasque Clarions are
unbearably uncomfy after 8 miles or so, even with Superfeet. Lowa
tempests don't fit me right, either. Maybe the Nike trail runner, but
this shoe is even more flexible than the 806. Our base weight is 24
lbs. and I need some beefy tread for snow travel... which the 806 has.
A half size down in the 806 is too tight.

Thanks for the help .

Nate
