[pct-l] How did you get your trail name?

Hi PCT-listers,

I got my trailname very simply because of mispronunciation of my name.
We wanted to resupply in Cascade Locks, but found out we could also go
to Hood River by bus. That sounded attractive as there was an outdoor
festival that weekend. We got on the bus and started talking to some of
the other passengers. The driver heard our conversation and told us
that we would have a hard time finding accommodation. There was a camp
site, but it was far from the centre and all hotels had been booked to
the hilt because of the festival. She eventually offered us a place to
set up our tent in the backyard. After a day she invited us to stay in
the spare bedroom. It was one of the times we experienced true kindness
and hospitality, erasing many of the prejudices Europeans sometimes
have about Americans. Her partner - they were getting married a week
later - could not pronounce my name and continued to call me 'Sauce'.
That became my trailname. I like it, as it reflects my esteem for all
things edible and is close to 'saucy' which I find a funny word.
