[pct-l] Bikes on the PCT

my final words on the subject:

I agree bikes do not belong in the wilderness sections
of the PCT. Of course, there is something special that
needs to be protected in areas accessible only by foot,
be them 2 or 4.

Other areas, particulary BLM public domain lands,
are candidates for mixed bicycle/hiker use. Alot of people
just want to make it through these areas, and would
never hike them again even if they lived nearby.

The PCT is the only trail through the San Felipe Hills,
for instance. It is too bad the trail must just sit there,
resting quietly between hot days shredding hikers feet up.

That is my point, I guess. It's too bad the radical downhillers
and all that give biking a bad name. A nice peaceful ride
at a safe pace on public domain lands can be most enjoyable.
Especially over a trail which has got the better of your feet
and your party in the past.
