[pct-l] Resupply Box Checklist
For those who may be busy packing boxes about now for the long walk, here is
a sample checklist. Food is, of course, the main ingredient. Other critical
items are listed so I won't forget to include them.
Brian's caloric intake is about 6000 per day because he is doing 30 or more
miles per day in good conditions. There's a little more variety than it
appears on this list because substitutions are made, but there are three
dinners as shown. All can be prepared in minutes using a good alcohol stove,
and they taste good. Substitute corn pasta at your own risk!
Here's the checklist:
BREAKFAST
_____ Granola 2 cups (1/4 bag) 880 calories
LUNCH & SNACKS - ~ 4,000 Calories/day
_____ Snickers Bars 3 each 1,500 c
_____ Cookie/crackers 1 each ~ 200 c
_____ Jerky 2 oz 160 c
_____ Trail Mix 1/3 bag Kirkland ~ 2,000 c
or equivalent.
For long sections, substitute a jar of peanut butter for
part of this.
DINNER - ~1,600 Calories
_____ Ramen 1 each 380 c
_____ Dried veggies
_____ Pop tarts 1 pkg 400 c
_____ Tuna, once per box
Main dish, one of:
_____ Pasta 1/4 lb 420 c
_____ Sauce Leather ~ 150 c
_____ Olive Oil 2 Tbsp 240 c
_____ Parmesan 4 Tbsp (1/4 cup) 100 c

_____ Pouch Potatoes 1 pouch 480 c
_____ Olive Oil 1/4 cup 480 c
_____ Granulated Garlic 2 Tbsp
