As of 10pm Traffic over Sunrise Summit on Interstate-8 (near where the PCT crosses 8) is "escort only" due to snow and ice on the road. 

I guess there was a severe hail or ice storm, with high winds and snow. Lots of accidents and big rigs getting blown over. I'm glad I'm not out there.

Hope all the thru-hikers are safely in the lodge sipping hot chocolate.............
