I dehydrated a little - apples, pasta sause, onions, peppers. I did not have
the time. I wanted to do more. Lastly, I've been smoking some meat for
snacking. Most of my food came from Costco and repackaged in smaller
portions. I went to an asian store to pick up rice, ramens, and variety.
The money part is certainly do-able. There are some thru-hikers on the AT
who call themselves "Hiker Trash" and do dumpster-diving. They are on real
small budgets: www.hobocentral.com
