[pct-l] shoes...sorta

I backpacked in Merrell or Teva sandles for 5 years or so. I use them winter (Seal Skins and fleese socks) and summer. My feet are actually warmer than when I hiked in boots. They are much more comfortable and, of course, lighter. No need to worry about stream fording. Ankle support is overrated. Unless you are going to wear mid-calf or higher boots, there is little or no ankle support. Just my opion....thought I'd stir things up even more.....lol. Oh, 800 miles is the longest pack I've made in sandles.
