I had to have 8 stitches in my hand from falling face first onto shale that
was wet and slippery. I just wrapped it with a pad of cotton and Coban,
(also known as Vetwrap) till I hiked out and got to an ER.
You can easily cut yourself badly enough for sutures with breaking anything.
