RE: [pct-l] Independence resupply

Carolyn,

The Kearsarge Pass trail out of Onion Valley is one of the most heavily used
in the Sierra. It is well marked, and about as difficult as 9 miles of PCT
in the vicinity. (IE tough but well worth the trouble.) Bears are
particularly troublesome due to the continuous stream of backpackers bearing
food. (Pardon the pun.) This is one of several areas in the Sierra where
counter-balanced bear bagging does NOT work.
