[pct-l] Bears and Horses

Just wondering if anyone knows if bears and mountain lions will bother
a mule. (She is a big mule, over 1000 pounds)  Has anyone heard of
attacks or does a mule keep a bear away from food supplies?  My mule
HATES dogs and would go after a bear I think... but at night she'd be
either hobbled or tied up.
