I crossed Onyx Pass on Hwy 38 (8,443' near San Gorgonio) yesterday and not
only was there no snow on the ground, there was no snow visible in the area
surrounding.  It is my opinion that there is no snow below 9,000' in the
San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mtns, and patchy snow above.
