Golden Arches, motels with hot showers, free hbo, ayce restaurants, neon beer
and pizza signs, air conditioned movie theaters, grocery stores, casinos, may
also be considered eyesores, but not to some thru-hikers after a week (or
months) on the trail.
Thru-hiking is not all trail, it's a path through local country and lore.
