Charlie-

Our trail volunteers visitied Willow Spring (map F-9) several times while
working in the area in '98. BLM/Ridgecrest did a great job of cleaning up
and fencing the spring to protect it from cattle, and installed trough and
water sphigot. Water tasted great and is such an improvement over the
cow-frequented Tunnel Spring along Kelso Valley Road. I would avoid the
latter and head for Willow Spring. BLM plans a spur access trail north
from the PCT although you can see the spring from the trail and head cross
country fairly easily now.
