I have been told that Ray Jardine's book has directions for making a Mylar umbrella.  I have ordered the book but haven't had a chance to read it yet.  I wonder has anyone designed a "stand" for the umbrella that could be fixed to a doggy pack for desert travel.  My dog is black and I am worried about the hot waterless stretches.  Has anyone on the list done any portion of Sections A or B with their dog.
