Hi folks

Last summer in July I attempted My Whitney from the east.  As most of you are aware there was a lot of snow.  I made it as far as Camp Trail and did not attempt the long snow ascent to the summit --I wimped.  Next year I intend to make it.  better training, lighter pack etc..

The question That I ahve is there a short lop that you can take to go around Whitney , approach form the west and end up descending to the east (ie Onion Valley).  has any one done something like this.
