I know this isn't true because of the amount of AT thru-hikers that
attempt the PCT and don't make it to the end of the trail. I'm sure they
would disagree with you 100%. The AT is a cake walk compared to the PCT.  
I've done all of the AT and a large portion of the PCT (not as an
attempted thru-hike, yet) so I can speak from experience.
